Presume so much in your question. Modern way of thinking. People separate everything now. Cut everything into small portions. Easier to categorize. Easier to manage.
When something needs to be done, I do it. Ritual of doing is just part of life. People treat ideas like “career” and “position” like they are sacred. Like they are fundamental. Not how it used to be, though. Why I like doing things like escort work. Sign on to protect some shipment, some convoy from bandits on the road. Kind of job where you just do what you need to, every day. Maybe you read a book. Maybe you eat lunch. Maybe you sleep. But you’re still working. Just part of life while you do it. No worrying about “on duty.” Just do what you need to.
Harder to find things like that now. Frustrating. People say “Find time for a hobby!” Don’t recognize what that means. Means you don’t like what you spend your time doing. Need to escape it. Whole philosophy just bothers me.
